Umberto Diecinove – I N S C T S

In un contesto alimentare dominato da eccessi e disuguaglianze, I N S C T S di Umberto Diecinove esplora l’allevamento di insetti come alternativa sostenibile e rigenerativa. Il progetto collega saperi ancestrali e ricerca scientifica contemporanea, mostrando come alcuni insetti possano trasformare scarti in risorse, migliorando suolo e salute animale, e offrendo autonomia a realtà agricole del Sud Globale.
Attraverso immagini e un documentario girato in Colombia, I N S C T S mette in discussione la centralità umana e propone una visione ecologica e interrelazionale del cibo. Il progetto include anche il podcast Get The Bug, in cui scienziati e attivisti riflettono sul potenziale sociale e politico dell’allevamento di insetti.

In a food system marked by excess and inequality, I N S C T S by Umberto Diecinove explores insect farming as a sustainable and regenerative alternative. Linking ancestral knowledge with cutting-edge research, the project shows how insects can turn waste into resources, improving soil and animal health, and empowering agricultural communities in the Global South.

Through photography and a short documentary filmed in Colombia, I N S C T S questions human centrality and proposes an ecological, interrelational view of food. The project also features the podcast Get The Bug, where scientists and activists discuss the social and political potential of insect farming.
