Il conflitto in Sudan, iniziato nel 2023, ha causato una delle peggiori crisi umanitarie attuali, con oltre otto milioni di persone in fuga e circa 730.000 bambini a rischio immediato di malnutrizione grave. Le fazioni in guerra usano la fame come arma, distruggendo risorse vitali e compiendo violenze contro civili. Il fotografo irlandese Ivor Prickett documenta questa tragedia per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica internazionale. Nonostante le difficoltà, UNICEF continua a fornire assistenza medica, acqua pulita e cibo terapeutico ai bambini colpiti dal conflitto, operando direttamente sul campo.

The conflict in Sudan, ongoing since 2023, has caused one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, with over eight million people displaced and around 730,000 children at immediate risk of severe malnutrition. Warring factions use hunger as a weapon by destroying vital resources and committing violence against civilians. Irish photographer Ivor Prickett documents this tragedy to raise international awareness. Despite immense challenges, UNICEF continues to provide medical aid, clean water, and therapeutic food to affected children, working on the ground amid ongoing dangers.
