Blake Little – Preservation 

Nel progetto Preservation, l’artista e fotografo Blake Little esplora il contrasto tra la durata eterna del miele e la transitorietà del corpo umano e della bellezza. Versando miele su corpi nudi e fotografando il processo, Little trasforma i soggetti in figure sospese nel tempo: statue viventi, embrioni, reliquie contemporanee.

Il miele, denso e traslucido, annulla le identità individuali, conferendo ai corpi una qualità scultorea e iconica. Le immagini evocano opere di Rodin, Vermeer, Francis Bacon, l’Espressionismo tedesco e le figure cristallizzate di Pompei, fondendo arte, storia e cultura pop in un’unica narrazione visiva.

Potente e intimo, Preservation riflette sulla memoria, sull’immortalità e sull’universalità del corpo umano, trasformato da una sostanza naturale in metafora senza tempo.

Blake Little – Preservation 

In his project Preservation, artist and photographer Blake Little explores the contrast between the eternal nature of honey and the fleeting existence of the human body and beauty. By pouring honey over nude bodies and photographing the process, Little transforms his subjects into figures suspended in time: living statues, embryos, contemporary relics.

The dense, translucent honey erases individual identity, giving the bodies a sculptural and iconic quality. The images evoke references to Rodin, Vermeer, Francis Bacon, German Expressionism, and the crystallized figures of Pompeii – blending art, history, and pop culture into a single visual narrative.

Powerful and intimate, Preservation reflects on memory, immortality, and the universality of the human form, transformed by a natural substance into a timeless metaphor.
