Martin Parr (b. 1952) is a British photographer known for his ironic and distinctive take on contemporary society. A full member of Magnum Photos since 1994 and founder of the Martin Parr Foundation, he has published over 120 books and curated numerous international exhibitions, including major retrospectives at the Barbican and the National Portrait Gallery. Recipient of several prestigious awards – including the Sony World Photography Award and a CBE in 2021 – Parr has played a key role in shaping documentary photography and advancing photographic culture worldwide.
